TAW & TDOR

Transgender Awareness Week (TAW), is observed the week leading up to International Transgender Day of Remembrance (TDOR). At Mason this year, we will be observing TAW November 13-16, when we will be highlighting some trans and non-binary folks who are working to advance rights, be visible possibility models, and build community for trans and non-binary futures. We will also be holding kiosks 12-2pm each day of TAW– in the Johnson Center (JC) and on Wilkins Plaza, so come see us and/or be visible with us then!

On Tuesday November 14th at 5pm, we will be hosting a Trans and Non-Binary Self-Care Event as part of our TAW series, where folks in our community can come together in a space for resilience-building and community. Register on Mason 360 to get event reminders https://cglink.me/2d7/r2256250 or check-in at the event.

Transgender Day of Remembrance (TDOR) is an internationally held event on November 20th to recognize and remember trans and nonbinary people who have died due to anti-trans violence in the past year. We usually hold TDOR the Thursday before November 20th at Mason and this year is no different. On Thursday November 16th at 5pm please join the LGBTQ+ Resources Center, the Center for Culture, Equity, and Empowerment, UL Mason Square, Student Government, CAPS, and Mason’s LGBTQ+ communities for Mason’s observance of Transgender Day of Remembrance where we will hold space to acknowledge the losses of our last year and spread awareness about the continued violence against trans and non-binary folks. Register on Mason 360 to get event reminders https://cglink.me/2d7/r2176954 or check-in at the event.
