I would like a presentation on gender identity for my WMST 100 course-Global representations of women.
I teach a course on student development theory for the Higher Education Program, and on Oct. 31 we will be discussing gender/gender identity, and on Nov. 7 we will be discussing sexual identity. In the past members of your team have done an activity and engaged students in a follow-up discussion, along with chatting about their careers in higher education. (The activity that was done in the past involved putting up sheets of paper around the room, and having students write on them — I’m not sure what that activity is called…)
To bring awareness about the importance of promoting safe and inclusive spaces within our campus community by educating our student body and faculty/staff about gender inclusivity, sexual orientation, and the LGBTQ+ community.
I am teaching a global representations of women’s course (WMST 100) and would like a speaker to come int o discuss Sex and Gender, including definitions, and, if possible, how these definitions are received across cultures.
The Arlington campus would like to receive and host some training sessions with your office. We often are not able to make it to sessions hosted on the Fairfax campus due to staffing reasons, and we would also like to make your resources known and available to our patrons here.
My class meets from 12 noon to 1:15 pm.
The Office of Student Life at the Annandale Campus of Northern Virginia Community College will be hosting an LGBTQ+ Ally Week to promote awareness about the LGBTQ+ community and educate our campus about ways that we can contribute and advocate for this community.
My name is Kennedi Triplett and I am the programs director for the Student Health Advisory Board on campus. On September 18th from 6-8 we are having a small tabling event in northern neck dedicated to suicide prevention. I was wondering if a representative from your office would be interested in having a table and handing out information on the resources that you offer. I look forward to hearing back from you,
I am teaching WMST 100- Global Representations of Women. I think it could be helpful to have students hear directly from LGBTQ resources as we discuss many intersectional identities and I would love for students to connect to LGBTQ resources as a resources. I think it would be a good way to cement some of the readings we will be doing as well.
This is a GCH/SOCW 445 course of prospective public health and social workers, and this section of the course covers social determinants of health and risk factors for the LGBTQ population. We are looking at homelessness, depression, suicide, and special health care needs and inclusion to avoid “othering” and exclusion. This is SOOO short notice, because I didn’t even realize that you all may offer these kinds of presentations to classes, but we would love it. My time slot request is kind of confusing, but I am looking at THIS Thursday morning for one of my sections, which is 10:30am to 11:45pm, and then for my other section, Monday, 4/2 at 4:30pm. I may have a speaker from the county that night on intimate partner violence, so I would have you all go first and then ask them to come to start like at 5:30pm, which would give you all an hour.
Please note that I added a third time slot because it would not let me submit the form without one, but that date is not available.
