Welcome to George Mason's Office of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, & Questioning Resources

Greetings from the Office!

Students on StatueThe Office of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender,Queer, & Questioning (LGBTQ) Resources is part of University Life's Multicultural Education and Research Coalition at George Mason University. Starting in 2002, the Office of LGBTQ Resources has worked for and with the LGBTQ and ally community on George Mason's campus to create an environment that is welcoming and conducive to learning.

This office is a safe and inclusive space and all are welcome to visit the office and use the space as a safe, inclusive, and comforting environment to gain access to Mason LGBTQ Resources and access to information about events and programs taking place on campus as well as to do homework and engage with friends as well as other LGBTQ and Ally individuals of the Mason community.

Because the office is open to all, we do ask that all who use the space are aware that the space is a safe and inclusive one where we recognize and value the differing opinion of others and the individual identities of those who visit our space. The office is also one representation of the LGBTQ community at Mason. Therefore, it is especially important that those who are in the space recognize that this is a community space in an academic setting and that visitors of the Office of LGBTQ Resources should be able to recognize the value that the office space adds to the inclusive environment on campus. It is important to honor the diversity and individuality in one another and act in a respectful way towards all those who enter and are in the Office of LGBTQ Resources, no matter their sexual orientation, gender identity, or the way in which the individuals identify or do not identify.

We are proud that Mason was named one of the top 100 U.S. colleges and universities in The Advocate College Guide for LGBT Students and has received 4 out of 5 stars on the LGBT-friendly Campus Climate Index (a national assessment tool owned and operated by Campus Pride).

Additionally, we are a member of the National Consortium of Higher Education LGBT Resource Professionals.
