Lavender & Women and Gender Studies Cording Ceremony

The Lavender and Women and Gender Studies Cording Ceremony is a space to honor our LGBTQ+ students and allies as well as the graduates of the Women and Gender Studies program (WGST minor, LGBTQ Studies minor, majors, MAIS and Certificate graduate students).  

Each graduate will receive cords and tassels that they are welcome to use as part of their graduation regalia at departmental, college, and university commencement ceremonies. The event is open to all LGBTQ+ students, allies, & Women and Gender Studies community.

Friends, partners, family, and chosen family are welcome to attend!

Graduates for SPRING, SUMMER, and FALL 2025 are all welcome!
